C.J. Peterson is an eighteen-year veteran youth leader, a seven-year veteran author, and knows how to relate well to folks of all ages! Her bright spirit and personality shine through as she shares her various passions. Not just a writer and Indie author, C.J. brings to life not only her world of writing and being a youth leader, but also shares portions of her abuse survivor past in order to help others.
She has spoken at the Indie Author Day of the Longview Public Library on being an Indie Author. The struggles Indie authors face in regards to finding an editor, a good cover artist, and marketing/branding can be daunting. She breaks it down into easy to understand segments, allowing others to follow along with ease.
She has also spoken at the East Texas Writer's Association on Social Media. This can be a disheartening, monster if you're not familiar with the ins and outs, along with the trends. She presented what she called, "Hootsuite for Dummies." She broke it down, complete with pictures, useful hashtags, and various ways to utilize the monster known as social media. She also went through the difference between promoting yourself and your books versus branding, and why one is more important than the other.
Also, a few years ago, she sat down with a youth group of around forty, and poured out her heart as a domestic violence survivor in a unique and inspirational way. Many people face domestic violence every day. Those who do not, do not always understand the struggles those in the situation are facing every day. Allow her a few moments to let your group walk in her shoes.
With a bright personality, she uses humor to keep the heaviness of some topics a little easier to digest, yet keeps the gravity of those situations in tact. Schedule C.J. to come speak with your group by contacting her with your proposal!
Author C.J. Peterson dazzled at our East Texas Writers Association June 2018 meeting. Her knowledge of managing social media was evident as she talked about hashtags, how to use Hootesuite to manage multiple social sites, and how to revive old blog posts. The meeting was flooded with questions from the members. We will certainly keep her in mind for a speaking spot next year. She really has it down to a fine science!

C.J. Peterson was a joy to have on our panel for Indie Author Day in 2017. C.J. spoke with such passion about her books and the countless people that read them. It was such a pleasure to hear her speak about her writing process and what inspires her everyday to continue writing. We were so happy to have her join us and are looking forward to having her again to speak on recent and future projects.
